We took the “difficult” task to spend a day with the Cool Charters Team on their lovely boat Kerry and oh my, it did not disappoint.

The Algarve coastline is one of Europes most amazing places to see from a boat and having children on this exciting adventure was made very easy and safe by the crew who where amazing and attentive to me and my family.

Being a native to the Algarve and having had the sea at my feet for most of my life, going out on a chartered boat was something that i needed to try with my family.

Morning: Setting Sail

Our adventure began at early in the morning at the Marina of Vilamoura, with rows of pristine yachts and a bustling atmosphere the mood was good and the little one was excited. We were warmly welcomed by Kevin and the crew and introduced to “our” yacht, the Azimut 58 Flybridge, named Kerry. Stepping onto the yacht felt like entering another world, we felt like rockstars! As we set off, the morning sun cast a gentle glow on the water, creating a serene ambiance. The crew popped a bottle of champagne, and we toasted to the day ahead. The gentle hum of the engine and the rhythmic lapping of the waves soon became a soothing soundtrack to our voyage. Our little one was so relaxed on the cushions she fell asleep until we stopped at our first stop of the day.

Mid-Morning: Adventure and Exploration

Our first stop was a secluded cove, perfect for paddleboarding and snorkeling. The clear waters revealed a vibrant underwater world teeming with marine life.

The crew provided all the necessary gear and guided us to the best spots, ensuring we made the most of our time and made sure we were safe at all times.

Back on board after all that swimming and fun in the water, we indulged in local snacks—freshly baked pastries, juicy fruits, and an assortment of cheeses. It was the perfect refuel before we explored some of the Algarve’s famous caves and grottoes. The intricate rock formations and hidden beaches were awe-inspiring, each more beautiful than the last, a must see for sure and i highly recommend it!

Afternoon: Leisure and Luxury

As the day warmed, we anchored in a tranquil bay for a leisurely lunch. The crew had prepared a gourmet spread with local delicacies and fine wines. Lunching on the deck with panoramic views of the coastline was an experience blending fine dining with the thrill of being at sea, for the little one they arranged some light nutritious food as she can be quite fussy with her eating.

After lunch, we lounged on the flybridge deck, enjoying the sun and occasional dips in the cool water. The yacht’s spacious layout allowed us to spread out and relax, each finding a perfect spot to unwind and soak up the views of the coastline and occasionally looking out for any pods of dolphins that might swim past.

Late Afternoon: High-Speed Thrills

With the sun beginning its descent, it was time for some high-speed excitement. The yacht’s powerful engines roared to life, and we sped along the coastline, the wind whipping through our hair. The sense of freedom and exhilaration was unmatched, a definite highlight of the day for me.

Evening: Sunset Magic

As evening approached, we slowed our pace, finding a prime spot to watch the sunset. The crew served champagne and canapés, enhancing the romantic and serene atmosphere. Watching the sun sink below the horizon, casting gold and pink and orange and purple hues across the sky and sea, was pure magic and as good as seeing the Northern Lights. It felt like the perfect ending to an already perfect day.

Nightfall: Reflections and Farewell

Returning to Vilamoura under a blanket of stars, I reflected on the day’s adventures.
